PART A Supply Chain Management
This course seeks to show how day to day operations contribute to the creation of competitive advantage. It is accomplished by suggesting models and processes for maximizing the value of various aspects of the business operation. It informs students of up-to-date methods in supply-chain management, linking new technologies and logistics in the context of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) projects.
Participants learn how todevelop, implement and manage supply chain programmes (diagnosis, methods and tools) and they develop a general managerial perspective on the role of the supply chain management. They become familiar with the issues confronting managers, learn specific vocabulary, concepts, methods and tools to deal with these issues and be exposed to the strategically important role of integrated planning and execution in management.
Throughout the course, theoretical concepts and techniques are balanced with a pragmatic outlook on the realities of today's operations environments.
PART B Trade Management
This course provides an overview of the questions raised by the international development in day-to-day business and the solutions to establish safe and profitable relationships.
Students discover the techniques for selecting and entering the international marketplace and the techniques used in international business transactions. They gain a good understanding of the problems companies face when marketing their products on international markets and they develop a reasonable knowledge of the main techniques used for international transactions in global markets.
Subjects covered include: price escalation, quotations, managing the payments and the financial risks of non-payment or exchange-rate currencies.
