How to Handle Cross-Border Tax Issues
The purpose of this course is to provide the students with a basic understanding of the mechanisms of tax law in an international and European context and its relevance for international business operations.
There will be a special emphasis on the appropriate methodology to read bilateral tax treaties efficiently.
The course will be business oriented as it will refer to actual situations. It will also deal with the specific EC legislation on company taxation, aiming at the study of tax competition and possibilities of tax planning in the EU.
