European business is characterized by a continuous trend of consolidation through mergers and acquisitions in many industries. Mergers and acquisitions are a wonderful way to instantly acquire market share, competencies or resources. However, merging two different companies raises tremendous challenges when it comes to creating the value expected from the deal. In this course, we address Mergers & Acquisitions issues and discuss methods for monitoring acquisitions. The course will end with a simulation exercise that will allow students to implement an acquisitive strategy.
