European Labor Law

 

This course deals with the regulatory environment for labour law in Europe and its relevance for business organization. It provides students with a basic knowledge of central labour law issues and how they affect business operations.

 

Topics include:

Workers Mobility in the EU 

Equal Treatment 

Perspectives on Collective Labour Law 

Participation of workers in the decision-making process of their employing enterprises 

 

PART B)  

Human Resources Management

 

This course explores key concepts in Strategic HRM and explores issues of convergence or divergence in European HR practice.  It  provides students with an understanding of different models of HRM and their application in the European context.

 

Topics include:

HR - Anglo Saxon  V   European traditions

Link between HR and business strategy

European HRM - convergence or diversity maintained?

European HR in practice: specific country practices: UK/France/Germany/Scandinavia
